Two years after the official launching of the national association “Local Communities along the Danube River” (CLDR Romania) – which in the meantime was affiliated to the Council of Danube Cities and Regions (CoDCR – Vienna) -, on the 22nd of September 2016, at the Senate of Romania, will take place a consultation with stakeholders from the public and private sector regarding the completion and harmonisation of the legal and institutional framework concerning the correlation of urban development with that of infrastructure and port activities, with impact in particular on tourism and local development along the lower Danube.

Task Force SUERDMeanwhile, thanks to a joint initiative of government and non – government entities, with the support and participation of the Ministry of European Funds, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Regional Development through the National Authority for Tourism (ANT), an EUSDR Task Force was created, dedicate to a better concentration of efforts on the promotion and the implementation of the Danube Strategy, as well as on the identification of the opportunities of EU funding for major macro-regional projects , especially for an optimal preparation of the Romanian participation to the EUSDR Annual Forum (Bratislava , 2016).

In this context, under the Patronage of the European Affairs Committee of the Senate of Romania, courtesy of Mr. Senator Octavian MOTOC, on Thursday, September 22, 2016, Hall “Avram Iancu” in the Senate will be held the National Conference “Sustainable urban integrated port and tourist – EU funding opportunities”.
